Intercommons is a proposed complementary complex of
organizations designed to safeguard and promote creativity,
innovation, free speech and commerce on the Internet.
Definition Intercommons: an interconnected
network of digital commons, derived from Internet, a protocol
connecting networks. The Intercommons is both a framework
and the protocols for creating one or more viable digital
commons -- community property, public investment, environmental
resource, social contract and nonprofit foundation all in
The purpose of the Intercommons is to serve the public interest
by creating, growing and protecting an open digital commons
for free speech, invention, artistic expression and a fair
market for products and services. In recognition that current
trends threaten all of these elements, which are the very
basis of all free societies of the future, this initiative
must be engaged in with all due haste and forthright commitment.
By creating this Intercommons, an independent network owned
and operated by its participants, we believe that sufficient
social, economic, legal, and political power can be generated
to ensure that Cyberspace continues to exist by and for the

Frontier Foundation (EFF)
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) was created to defend
our rights to think, speak, and share our ideas, thoughts,
and needs using new technologies, such as the Internet and
the World Wide Web. EFF is the first to identify threats to
our basic rights online and to advocate on behalf of free
expression in the digital age. . . . Based in San Francisco,
EFF is a donor-supported membership organization working to
protect our fundamental rights regardless of technology; to
educate the press, policymakers and the general public about
civil liberties issues related to technology; and to act as
a defender of those liberties. Among our various activities,
EFF opposes misguided legislation, initiates and defends court
cases preserving individuals' rights, launches global public
campaigns, introduces leading edge proposals and papers, hosts
frequent educational events, engages the press regularly,
and publishes a comprehensive archive of digital civil liberties
information at one of the most linked-to websites in the world.
Free Expression Alliance (IFEA.com)
The Internet is a powerful and positive forum for free expression.
It is the place where "any person can become a town crier
with a voice that resonates farther than it could from any
soapbox," as the U.S. Supreme Court recently observed.
Internet users, online publishers, library and academic groups
and free speech and journalistic organizations share a common
interest in opposing the adoption of techniques and standards
that could limit the vibrance and openness of the Internet
as a communications medium. Indeed, content "filtering"
techniques already have been implemented in ways inconsistent
with free speech principles, impeding the ability of Internet
users to publish and receive constitutionally protected expression.

The DigiBarn Computer Museum seeks to weave personal stories
and technological innovation through a large number of vintage
computer systems, oodles of manuals, videos, interviews, all
fossil relics of the "Cambrian explosion" of personal
computing that ignited in 1975. When we get visitors, those
who "burst into tears" upon seeing certain systems
which may have defined their lives/careers, our cameras roll
to capture the inevitable stories. Thus the three rooms of
the museum constitute a kind of "memory palace"
for the nerd-inclined and help us piece together the amazing
story of the invention of personal computing and Cyberspace.
It is Bruce Damer's fantasy one day to get professional help
and many more folks' interest in blessing a mini-project to
create a web describing these lives, inventions, and this
time in history.
The DigiBarn is a 'hands on' place where (at the risk to
breaking them) folks come here, boot up the systems, load
their software and relive some of their past.
We are about capturing the artifacts in order to capture
the stories. For example, when guests come our cameras roll
so that we can document the people and their lives behind
the machines and software. The machines serve as a memory
palace facilitating the recalling of the times and lives of
people, especially how they interconnected with other people.
This focus on the interweaving of lives and who met who when
and why is inspired by James Burkes' connections approach
The last thing is that we are a bit more whimsical than most
museums. For example, we are plastering the walls and ceilings
with 3,000 T-shirts because the t shirt is the symbol of nerd-dom
and why not surround the museum visitor with it?
[Comment: If, years ago, you labored through the night soldering
your very own Sol-20, it truly will bring tears to your eyes
to see one of those wonderful little machines once again.

Year Life Cycles Time and Synchronicity
This site explores repeating life cycles (e.g., the 7
year cycle) and their impact on our day by day evolving life.
In using different long- and short-term life cycles, it is
possible to unravel the creative force in your personal life.
In health, creativity and life power, a personal pattern of
evolution is detectable and established. This gives insights
in health and sickness, in good- or bad luck, in creation
or destruction by working with the Life Cycles Matrix ®
Diagram. . . . By using the basic building block '3.2 years
life cycle' in multiples it's very easy to come to the 7 year
(6.4), the 10 year (9.6) and the famous 30 year (28.8) cycles.
Obtain a better understanding why the 'mid-life crisis' (42-45y)
is a crisis period in your course of life and not earlier
or later. Understand why people die surprisingly often just
two years after retirement around their 61-64 years. [Editor's

Over the last 30 years geneticist have been debating the
significance of a standard genetic code. The center of the
debate has been whether or not all life shares a common ancestor.
Rather than looking back in time for a common point of origin

accept that there is a reason the code is shared and ask ourselves
The answer may not be a biological time line of cause and

Perhaps the "Standard Code" is the core of life

The History of the Shamen is the story of several different
types of evolution. It's a journey across the cultures of
Acid House, the psychedelic underground and the Internet to
find the words, sounds and songs of the future. And it follows
the fairy steps of ancient shamen: tribal mystics who roamed
the cutting edges of existence to talk to the spirits and
discover the secrets of life. . . . In their first, mid 80s
incarnation, The Shamen were a cheerfully weird and trip-fixated
guitar band. . . . The Second evolution was when they realised
that Acid House and The Shamen was going to be a match made
in heaven. . . . This was the third evolution: the transformation
from underground dance group to one of the most powerful and
positive pop bands on the planet. In July 1992 they released
their single, "LSI" and followed it with a stream
of hits: "Boss Drum", Phorever People" and
of course their long running number one "Ebeneezer Goode".
With it's cheeky chorus of "Ezeer Goode, Ezeer Goode",
the song soundtracked and smiled at the experiences of an
entire generation. . . . if you listened carefully "Boss
Drum" wasn't just another Pop record. Running through
it's lyrics was a mesh of references that connected dance
music and rave cultures with ancient Shamanic and tribal practices.
Cult writer, biologist and thinker Terence McKenna, a Timothy
Leary for the 90's, explained everything on the track "Re:Evolution"
over a swirling ambient -trance groove. McKenna drew connection
between plant psychedelics, human evolution, all-night dancing
and eco-consciousness. . . . Now the fourth evolution: into

Global Consciousness Project at Princeton University
The Global Consciousness Project (GCP) is an international
effort involving researchers from several institutions and
countries, designed to explore whether the construct of interconnected
consciousness can be scientifically validated through objective
measurement. The project builds on excellent experiments conducted
over the past 35 years at a number of laboratories, demonstrating
that human consciousness interacts with random event generators
(REGs), apparently "causing" them to produce non-random
patterns. . . . Displays of the data take various forms, including
some that show the real-time activity as nearly as possible.
Available now are regularly updated tables of statistical
information as well as simple and easily understood graphical
