Thought for the day The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them. -- George Orwell

Whatever you do DON'T MISS SEEING America: from Freedom to Fascism this summer
Don't take my word for it, just click the link above and watch the two trailers. For those of you who have been studying Calleman's interpretation of the Mayan Calendar, this film sets out a series of events that may provide the tipping point for Night Five, beginning in November 2007. Interesting stuff, don't you think?
Here are the Primary Objectives of the film and Web site:
* Stop the polarization of America * Stop the domination of the Democratic and Republican parties over our political system * Shut down the Federal Reserve system * Return America's gold to Fort Knox and have it audited * Have Congress and the IRS, in a public forum, reveal the law that requires Americans to pay a direct, unapportioned tax on their labor. * Make computerized voting illegal in all 50 states * Keep the internet free and out of the control of large institutions * Rescind the law called the Real ID Act so Americans never have to carry a National ID Card * Make it illegal to implant RFID chips in human beings * Educate juries to the fact that they have the right to determine the law as well as the facts of a case * Educate juries to the fact that they are not obligated to follow the instructions of a judge * Stop Globalization because it is the path to a one world government * Protect our borders * Restore the environment * Put an end to the Patriot Act
By the way, the American Heritage Dictionary has the following to say about fascism: "fas-cism (fash'iz'em) n. A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism."

MS Windows is the world's biggest computer virus I've just wasted a day and a half doing system maintenance on my PC, and I still can't get a simple microphone to work on Windows XP.
The mistake I made was upgrading to version 10 of the MS media player. There's either a major bug in the install program, or, as I suspect, Microsoft's nerds intentionally wrote some malicious code. During the installation, not only did the MS code totally destroy my ability to make voice recordings, it also, AMAZINGLY, totally wiped out their Internet Explorer browser. (Firefox is my default browser, and so I assume the Microsoft code attacked my machine to teach me a lesson.
When I tried to reinstall IE 6.xxx it wouldn't let me because "a newer version was detected", even though a search for iexplore.exe didn't turn up anything. So I made the really big mistake of attempting to install their latest 7.x beta of IE. No options were given during the install, and so I couldn't see where it was loaded. The installation process didn't install any icons on the desktop, and so I tried to find the new version. A search shows it installed in the C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstalle7beta2$ directory (very intuitive of the idiots at MS who coded that install program, don't you think?). I launched it and discovered that I don't have administrative privileges on IE anymore.
Since I seem to be spending almost a day a week administering Windows, I think the time could be better used learning a REAL operating system like LINUX. I hope Bill Gates and his rich serfs at MS are enjoying their wealth because it comes at the expense of incredible amounts of stress on the part of their captive customers. I sure wouldn't want all the bad karma that is piling up on these amateur programmers.

Peaceful Warrior - In Theaters June 2nd Reviewed by Matthew J. Pallamary, author of Land Without Evil
When the student is ready, the teacher appears, and so it is for the meeting of Dan Millman and his master "Socrates", brilliantly played by Scott Mechlowicz and Nick Nolte respectively. This is no ordinary meeting. In Peaceful Warrior, dreams and waking reality weave themselves in a tight narrative that seamlessly criss-crosses the boundaries between sleeping and waking, both visually and metaphorically, so that we never know for sure which realm we are seeing. In one sense it doesn't matter, because in the world of the Peaceful Warrior unbelievable things happen in both waking and dreaming moments. In this film, the prestidigitation is done so deftly that the world of the movie, the message, and the acting, all come across with absolute credibility.
It is challenging to say the least, to portray a cocky, arrogant, conceited, self-centered, narcissist, who is not only believable, but sympathetic, and somehow likeable, in spite of his glaring ego. In Peaceful Warrior, Scott Mechlowicz pulls it off and comes across totally believable in his arrogance, and equally so in his subsequent humiliation and transformation. Nick Nolte anchors the unfolding, providing a solid, bang-on performance of the great master who is far more than he appears to be on the surface, and Amy Smart as Joy provides a sweet, classy, balancing feminine counterpoint to the excessive testosterone and the easy virtues of the shallow co-ed bar flies. Tim Dekay as Coach Garrick, as well as Ashton Holmes, Paul Wesley, and B.J. Britt, all provide noteworthy supporting performances as Dan's gymnastic team. I am admittedly biased, but I believe that this film has Oscar written all over it.
There is far more magic in Peaceful Warrior than what meets the eye. With big movies like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Narnia, the hero's journey is played out against bigger than life archetypes fully drawn out in wonderfully exaggerated, fantastic characters and settings where the story evolves in mythical, supernatural settings where anything can happen. We see these epics unfold and feel the trials and tribulations of the heroes, but in comparison they are nowhere near as up close, personal, and believable, as in the subjective portrayal of Peaceful Warrior's main character, Dan Millman. In this film, a great script, direction, acting, and camera work have combined to make a rare, meaningful movie that deals with issues that all of us face within ourselves. The conflict in Peaceful Warrior doesn't come from an antagonist embodied in an evil empire, or a subterranean dark lord. It comes from Millman's own shadow, like the shadow we all have and often deny to our own peril and detriment.
If you are looking for insight and inspiration in your own spiritual journey and want to see something that gives positive direction and confirmation, bring your family, friends, and loved ones to experience Peaceful Warrior, then when you have digested its message, go and see it again. It's a film worth watching over and over.
[COMMENT by Lorenzo: Matt Pallamary is a good friend of mine, and I greatly respect his opinion. Several of my other friends have also raved about this new film as well. I haven't had a chance to see it yet myself, but I guess full disclosure also requires that I mention the fact that the producer, David Welch, is also a friend of mine. . . . So go see his movie . . . we're all starving out here and need the help :-).]
