House members consider making rave promoters liable for Ecstasy use (WLUC-TV6, Negaunee, MI, October 12, 2002) Texas Republican Congressman Lamar Smith is proposing a bill to make it easier for the government to fine or imprison business owners who don't prevent drug offenses on their property. . . . The American Civil Liberties Union complains that it's unfair to hold rave promoters responsible for the action of their partygoers and such a law could be extended to events like Rolling Stones concerts.
