Do Guns Save Lives?
Or Cause Accidents?

Gun Control only seems like a good idea!

According to a 1995 National Safety Council study, the leading causes of death for children ages 0-14 were (in order):

* Motor Vehicle Accidents (3,059)
* Drowning (1,060)
* Fires & burns (833)
* Mechanical suffocation (459)
* Ingestion of food or foreign objects (213)
* Firearms (181)

Further, about 30 innocent people (per year) are tragically killed in the mistaken belief they are intruders. But trained police mistakenly kill 330 innocent people each year.

Should police be disarmed because they're dangerous?

Would anyone argue that children should be prohibited from swimming or riding in cars?

..even though armed police, swimming, and car rides result in more tragedies each year than gun accidents?

It can be argued that police, bodies of water, and automobiles serve positive purposes that are greater than the accidental deaths they cause. But the same thing can be argued for privately owned guns. Each year, more than 2 million criminal acts are prevented by gun owners.

The media would have you believe that guns are a dangerous item that should be banned.
